چکیده

Abstract To comprehend the mechanical behavior of a polycrystalline material, an in-depth analysis individual grain boundary (GB) and dislocation interactions is prime importance. In past decade, nanoindentation emerged as powerful tool to study local response in vicinity GB. The improved instrumentation test protocols allow capture various GB–dislocation during form strain bursts on load–displacement curve. Moreover, interaction plastic zone with GB provides important insight into transmission effects distinct boundaries. Of great importance for interpretation observed are microstructural investigations computational approaches. This review paper focused recent advances dislocation–GB underlying mechanisms studied via nanoindentation, which includes pop-in phenomenon, localized movement under ambient conditions, slip transfer mechanism using theoretical treatments simulations. Atomistic Studies of Nanoindentation—A Review of Recent Advances

This review covers areas where our understanding of the mechanisms underlying nanoindentation has been increased by atomistic studies of the nanoindentation process. While such studies have been performed now for more than 20 years, recent investigations have demonstrated that the peculiar features of nanoplasticity generated during indentation can be analyzed in considerable detail by this tec...

Recent Advances in Multiple Testing

There has been renewed interest in the area of multiple testing because of its importance in many statistical investigations, particularly in experiments where large data sets are generated, such as genetic microarrays. The purpose of this paper is to present some important developments that have taken place recently in this area, focusing mainly on stepwise multiple testing procedures, and to ...

Review of mechanisms and recent advances in cancer photo thermal therapy

Abstract. Cancer is a major health problem all over the world. Photo thermal therapy (PTT) is a non-invasive method in cancer treatment. In PTT, the laser light usually in near-infra red region is absorbed and converted to heat in the cancerous tissue. The temperature above 40 ° C in PTT can induce some effects including irreversible damage to proteins, changes in enzyme struc...

Recent Advances in Radio Controlled Model Testing

Self propelled models under radio control have been used for many years to assess the manoeuvring and handling of ships, and occasionally small craft. The limitations for testing small, fast craft have been linked to the low model weight required and the ability to install enough power, as well as the cost of modelling. Recent advances in motor and battery technology, the availability of model ...

Recent advances in plant-herbivore interactions

Plant-herbivore interactions shape community dynamics across marine, freshwater, and terrestrial habitats. From amphipods to elephants and from algae to trees, plant-herbivore relationships are the crucial link generating animal biomass (and human societies) from mere sunlight. These interactions are, thus, pivotal to understanding the ecology and evolution of virtually any ecosystem. Here, we ...
